Transcatheter interventions for tricuspid regurgitation - heterotopic technology: TricValve.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction Considering the incidence of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and its implications on functional status and long-term survival, TR is currently undertreated. With the increasing adoption of catheterbased treatments of other types of structural heart disease there is a growing interest and need for effective interventional treatment also for tricuspid regurgitation. Therefore, multiple treatment approaches are under investigation; however, in this chapter we focus exclusively upon tricuspid replacement.

Heterotopic transcatheter tricuspid valve implantation: first-in-man application of a novel approach to tricuspid regurgitation
AIMS Transcatheter treatment of heart valve disease is well established today. However, for the treatment of tricuspid regurgitation (TR), no effective catheter-based approach is available. Herein, we report the first human case description of transcatheter treatment of severe TR in a 79-year-old patient with venous congestion and associated non-cardiac diseases. In this patient, surgical treat...

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has been established as a less invasive alternative to open-heart surgery in inoperable or high-risk patients presenting with symptomatic severe aortic valve stenosis. The feasibility and efficacy of valve-in-valve implantation in degenerated surgical aortic bioprostheses have also been described and can currently be considered a valuable treatment ...
